Export geography of Azerbaijani products expands
The press conference on works done and incoming tasks in the direction of promotion of the brand “Made in Azerbaijan”, the activity of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) was held at Baku Business Centre.
Rufat Mammadov the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy gave information on reforms realized in the direction of development of the non-oil sector, with the purposes of stimulation of the local production, production of non-oil products competitive, export-oriented, branching the export structure, increasing the share of the private sector in the production under the directorate of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It has been stated that, as a result of the measures taken, the export in the non-oil sector increased 36,5% in 2017-2018, and 17,8% during 5 months of 2019. The export of agricultural and processing products has increased 37.6% during this year. The Deputy Minister stating the increase of the products of non-oil industry has also stated the role of industrial parks along with other mechanisms in this field and stated that, the product in the value of 267 million manats from 1,4 billion manats products has been exported. Rufat Mammadov who emphasized the increase of the export products varieties of Azerbaijan brought into attention that, the products under 2166 name are exported to the foreign market. In addition, the number of foreign economic activity participants has also increased. So, the number of entrepreneurs engaging in foreign commercial activity has increased 74% and reached 18,4 thousand during 5 months.
Rufat Mammadov has stated that, the intensive measures are taken with the purpose of expansion of the export geography of Azerbaijani products, the export missions are organized consistently in foreign countries, the participation of Azerbaijan companies are ensured in the prestigious international exhibitions. 29 export missions have been organized to the foreign countries up to now with the purpose of stimulation of non-oil export, the promotion of the brand “Made in Azerbaijan”. Azerbaijani products have been demonstrated in 24 international exhibitions up to now. The agreements have been reached, the contracts signed on export of Azerbaijani products within these measures.
In addition, the trade and wine houses of Azerbaijan are opened in foreign countries with the purpose of promotion of the brand “Made in Azerbaijan”. However, Azerbaijan trade houses have been opened in 2017 at Belorussia, in 2018 at Ukraine, Latvia, Poland and China, and in January of this year in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. The constant exhibition of Azerbaijani products of different varieties work in each of these trade houses, and the wine houses of Azerbaijan work in Urumchi and Shankhay cities of China. The measures ate continues in the direction of expansion of this network. It is intended to open the wine houses in Russia and China, and the trade house in Nur-Sultan city of Kazakhstan till the end of this year.
At the same time, the trade representations of Azerbaijan in Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China and Central European countries operate, and these mechanisms, the trade representatives of Azerbaijan in foreign countries play an important role in ensuring the economic interests of our country, in envolving the foreign investors and in formation the relations with the potential buyers.
Currently the project of formation of “Azerbaijani gifts” network of shops is realized in Russia. The first shop within this project is opened in March of this year. It is planned to open such shops in other cities of Russia.
The application of the back payment mechanism connected with the export plays an important role in stimulation of export of non-oil products. It was stated that, the entrepreneurs have been the export promotion more than 5 million manats within this mechanism during this 2019, and generally the export promotion more than 13 million manats has been paid up to now.
Yusif Abdullayev acting head of AZPROMO has informed about the promotion and gain in sales of Azerbaijani products in foreign markets, the promotion of the brand “Made in Azerbaijan”, the works done and events intended by AZPROMO in the direction of promotion of “Made in Azerbaijan”. It was noted that, Azerbaijani products have been exhibited under the national stand “Made in Azerbaijan” in 7 international exhibitions since the beginning of 2019. They are“International Green Week 2019”, “Fruit Logistica 2019”, “Prowein 2019” in Berlin, Germany, “Prodexpo 2019”, “Mosbuild 2019” in Moscow, Russia, “Gulfood 2019” in UAE and “Sial China 2019” organized in China. It was stated that, Azerbaijan companies will participate in the international exhibitions “Worldfood Moscow” to be organized in Russia, “Anuga 2019” in Germany, and “Food and Hotel China” in China till the end of this year as a continuation of the events realized.
It was informed that, 5 export missions were organized to 4 foreign countries this year. So, Azerbaijan export mission was in China, Poland, Latvia and Qatar in the first months of the current year. The export mission will be organized to Zurich and Bern the cities of Switzerland and Yekaterinburg of Russia in June and July of 2019.
